Briana DeJesus Reveals Javi Marroquin Proposed by Saying “Here” and Not “Will You Marry Me?”
He liked it, so he (tried!) to put a ring on it. On last night’s brand new episode of Teen Mom 2, Briana DeJesus confirmed Javi Marroquin proposed to her after just a few months of dating — and she turned him down. The 24-year-old was surprised to learn from her mom, Roxanne, that he had asked for her blessing. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t very well thought out.
“It was just like ‘here,'” she told a friend, extending her hand out while describing how her now former beau simply showed her the engagement ring. “He didn’t get down on one knee, it wasn’t romantic, there were no flowers or this and that. It wasn’t my ideal proposal, and I wasn’t going to accept the ring.” C’mon, Javi — do better!
Bri added that the two hadn’t even spoken much about marriage beforehand. “I don’t know why he wants to propose right now,” she said. “We’ve had a conversation about what we want for our lives, like what we want for the future, but it wasn’t like I want to get married with you, I want to have your kids right now. We spoke about it like, ‘Yeah, maybe one day.’ We’ve only been together for a few months, so it’s super fast.”
The mother-of-two continued, “It’s not the right time, so I gave it back to him. He wants to marry me, he wants me to have his children, he wants me to move in with him. There’s a lot of stuff that he wants.”
According to Javi, however, that’s not how it all went down. The 25-year-old took to Twitter on June 26 and claimed, “Wait…im just now getting the cliff notes on last night’s episode. She really said she said no lmao! ok.” He continued, “Makes sense at the reunion when I told them what happened they kept asking me the same question as if I was supposed to say something different… they probably wont air it though. Anyways, all good though… I’ve moved on from the past, most importantly I have accepted it… looking forward to the future. All love!” Hmm…

Kailyn Lowry‘s ex announced he and Briana were dating in October and broke up in January. Of course, we now know that Javi is expecting his second child with girlfriend Lauren Comeau, so a lot has changed in the last six months. Yet despite the quick turnaround, she doesn’t think Javi cheated.
“I already knew that was going to happen because he wanted to get married and start a family right away,” she told Radar Online earlier this month. Although she admitted that “he sure did move on fast,” she also said, “I don’t think he did cheat on me.” Apparently for her, “It’s really not that serious.”
“Javi is a person that wants things down yesterday,” she said during last night’s episode. “That’s the military life. I get it. But that’s not how I live my life.”
