Farmer Wants a Wife isn’t your traditional dating show. Instead of whisking contestants away to a lavish mansion to woo a handsome bachelor, this series takes them straight to the farm — where love means rolling up their sleeves, getting their hands dirty and proving they can handle the realities of rural life.
Where Is ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Season 3 Filmed?
Season 3 initially began in Alabama, where fans met the four farmers — Matt Warren, Jay Woods, John Sansone and Colton Hendricks — and their pool of contestants. After narrowing their choices to five women each, the farmers invited these select contestants to their home states, which range in location from Missouri, Alabama, California and Arkansas.
This season also brings exciting twists, with the daters heading to Tennessee for a country ball and Texas for an overnight camping mixer, according to the press release.
Where Do the Season 3 Farmers of ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Live?
Farmer Matt originally hails from Austin, Texas, but stepped up and moved to Morro Bay to save his brother and sister-in-law’s avocado farm. He owns a 132-acre avocado and exotic fruit farm in Morro Bay, along with a 70-acre farm in Visalia.
Jay is a former college football player who traded his cleats for boots when his career didn’t play out due to an injury. He was born and raised in Florence, Alabama, where he still lives today and tends to more than 515 acres of land.

Colton is a cattle rancher and horse trainer from Mena, Arkansas, where he owns a 600-acre cattle farm.
Meanwhile, John, a soy, corn and wheat farmer, tends to 170 acres of land and is originally from St. Louis, Missouri.
Who Is the Host of ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Season 3?
Kimberly Williams-Paisley is the host for season 3 of Farmer Wants a Wife. Seasons 1 and 2 were formerly hosted by singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles.
“I enjoyed being myself in this show, which was a new experience for me with my first unscripted series,” Kimberly said in a statement. “Because I’m a city girl who embraced the country life when I married my husband twenty-one years ago, I related to the allure of a farmer for these ladies. I really appreciate how dedicated this show and its producers are in helping these hopeful farmers and women find love.”
Kimberly is married to country singer Brad Paisley. The pair met on the set of his “I’m Gonna Miss Her” music video and they began dating soon after. They later got engaged in 2002.
Jennifer has not addressed her exit from Farmer Wants a Wife as of publication, however, fans speculated that she was replaced due to a schedule conflict following her reunion with Sugarland bandmate Kristian Bush at the CMT Awards in April 2024.
The duo released their EP There Goes the Neighborhood in August 2024 and promoted it on a joint tour with Little Big Town from October to December 2024, which may have overlapped with the filming of Farmer Wants a Wife.
Farmer Wants a Wife airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
