When Amanda Knox was still behind bars in Italy, jailed for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, she wrote in a letter to her friend Madison Paxton that “if” she were to be released from prison, she had big goals, including partnering with the Innocence Project, becoming a translator and having children.

She has since made at least two of those dreams come true, welcoming two kids and working with the nonprofit after her 2011 acquittal.

Critics and curious minds wonder what else she is up to since returning home.

Where Does Amanda Knox Live Now?

The controversial activist returned to Seattle — where she grew up and lived before going abroad to Italy and her 2007 arrest — after being acquitted and has stayed since.

Is Amanda Knox Married?

The activist started dating Christopher Robinson, a poet and author of two books, in 2015.

In November 2018, Christopher proposed to Amanda via a YouTube video. “I had been thinking about this, but it’s … already happened in the future … it’s happening now … I don’t have a ring, but I do have a big rock,” he told her in the video. “Will you stay with me until the last star in the last galaxy burns out and then even after that? Amanda Marie Knox, will you marry me?”

Amanda responded with a gleeful yes, and the happy couple tied the knot in February 2020. Their outer-space themed ceremony, which was dubbed “The Knox Robinson Coalescence” and occurred on Leap Day, was pretty unconventional — the pair’s guests wore costumes instead of typical wedding attire.

What Is Amanda Knox’s Job?

In the time since Amanda was freed from an Italian prison and acquitted of murder charges, she’s achieved her dream of working with the Innocence Project. The nonprofit is dedicated to putting an end to wrongful convictions — a cause important to Amanda, who was later exonerated by Italy’s highest court in 2015, almost four years after she was acquitted. She was the keynote speaker at a conference about criminal justice hosted by the Innocence Project in Italy in June 2019, her first time back in the country since being released.

In addition to her work with the Innocence Project, Amanda is a journalist and writer who penned a memoir titled Waiting to Be Heard, which was released in 2013. She is also a podcast host.

Amanda’s podcast “The Truth About True Crime with Amanda Knox” — which was produced by Christopher — ran for four seasons. The dynamic duo now cohosts “Labyrinths,” a podcast about people navigating their own personal mazes in life, and “Younglings,” where they, along with another couple from the U.K., discuss their “experiences bringing up babies.”

Amanda Knox Is Surprisingly Public About Her Life

Unlike many other people involved in high profile cases, Amanda has been active not only on social media, but also in the press. In 2016, the Washington native opened up about how she deals with the “trolls” who harass her online since creating social media profiles after her exoneration.

“The automatic assumption is you should be defensive, because obviously people are attacking in a way that is insane and unwarranted and out of context,” she told the Seattle Times. “But the first step toward defending yourself is being vulnerable, and engaging the person who is pointing the finger at you with compassion. Not all trolls are going to be human with you. But the only thing you can do is sit there across from someone and acknowledge that you are a human being, and you aren’t just confined to their definition of you.”

In March 2023, Amanda received major backlash after a tweet of hers — written in response to a student’s story about hating her experience studying abroad — went viral.

“Girl, what are you talking about? Studying abroad is awesome,” Amanda replied. Social media users were quick to call out the controversial figure on her statement.

“Her response about studying abroad is giving OJ vibes. Not saying either one is guilty or innocent just saying it’s a similar vibe,” one user wrote. Meanwhile, another commented, “Poor Meredith’s family.”

Two months later, Amanda made headlines again as she appeared on the OnlyFans Roast of Whitney Cummings.

“I’m Amanda Knox and I’m here because this is my last hour of community service,” she joked while roasting the comedian. “I used to have nightmares about going back to prison, now I have nightmares about hearing ‘bap bap bap.'”

Does Amanda Knox Have Social Media?

In 2017, Amanda made her Instagram profile public and has since garnered over 116,000 followers. Her posts include updates about her husband, kids and pets, as well as promotion for her podcast and various other business ventures.

Amanda also has an account on X (formerly known as Twitter), on which she frequently shares everything from personal updates to her thoughts on current events. The exoneree has garnered more than 141,000 followers since she created the account in May 2013.

Does Amanda Knox Have Kids?

In August 2021, Amanda announced she and husband Christopher were expecting their first child together, one month after suffering a miscarriage.

“That’s right, we’re pregnant, and we’ve been recording audio of our own experience since day one,” the Seattle native said on her “Labyrinths” podcast. “Stay tuned for our next miniseries, 280 days, where we take you on an intimate journey from conception to birth.”

On October 22, 2021, Amanda revealed that she had welcomed a baby daughter and shared her name. “I will say I’m excited to not have to keep pretending not to be a mom,” the podcaster told The New York Times in an interview, sharing that she and Christopher had chosen the name Eureka for their firstborn. Amanda posted a mother-daughter photo to Instagram, which she said “will be the only picture of her I will ever share on social media.”

Amanda announced that she and Christoper were expecting their second child on August 20, 2023. Taking to social media with the caption, “Pregspreading,” the podcaster sat casually on a bench and showed off her baby bump.

On the November 29, 2023, episode of their “Younglings” podcast, Amanda revealed that she and Christopher had welcomed baby No. 2, a son named Echo, that September.

“The birth was really, really ideal as far as births go,” Amanda shared on the podcast. “It was a very chill room. It was just me and Chris this time. Again, we had a very good nurse. Although, she was also kind of drifting in and out, so a lot of the time was just us hanging out. Chris was reading poetry to me, and I was having contractions. But then I had an epidural so I was easy-peasy.”
