“Christina El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa wanted to see how things went,” a production source tells In Touch exclusively. “They agreed to consider signing on for five more at a later time, but that never happened. The show is done.”

When Tarek and Christina first announced their separation, they were threatened with legal action by HGTV — who said they would sue the couple for breach of contract if they didn’t continue to work together. Shortly thereafter, Christina insisted that they wouldn’t let their impending divorce impact their show or their professional relationship.

“We have so much fun on set and we look forward to continuing the show,” Christina said on Good Morning America in February. “We met at work, so we worked together before we ever started dating. It’s our normal.”

At the same time, Tarek insisted that the show would go on, telling the hosts of the Today show, “In this entire process, me and Christina have been professional. We love what we do and hope to continue to film the show.”

Fortunately, fans won’t have to say goodbye to Flip or Flop forever — HGTV previously announced that they have five spin-offs in the works, which will follow new couples in different cities.

“Because every market is unique, there was an opportunity to highlight what works in various regions by featuring successful people in different locations who had mastered the art of flipping their own town,” Allison Page, general manager for US programing and development for HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel said in a statement.
