She’s had a hell of a year so far, but things are finally looking up for Wendy Williams. After she was seen hiding from the paparazzi on April 24, she stepped out smiling serenely on May 1. The 54-year-old star seemed to be doing better than ever when she finished filming her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, and stepped out onto the street. EXCLUSIVE: Wendy Williams exits her show

She looked happy and healthy.

Compare this photo with the one of her leaving her sober house while looking frazzled AF on March 20, and it’s clear how far she’s come in just a few weeks. After filing for divorce on April 10, she seems to have turned over a whole new leaf.

She’s a free woman.

In March, the star opened up about her relapse and seeking treatment for her addiction issues. After kicking addiction’s butt with a stay in a sober house, it seems she was ready to finally confront her marriage issues, too.

She’s ready to be alone.

Though her husband, Kevin Hunter, didn’t want go get divorced, Wendy claimed the two had “irreconcilable difference” which “caused the breakdown of the marriage for a period of six (6) months.” She claimed there was “no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”

Meet “Wendy on her own.”

On April 15, she announced she’s moving out of the sober house and ready to take on life by herself. “I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son,” she said on her show.

It’s going to be amazing.

“I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of [the sober house] better, stronger and faster than ever,” she shared at the time. And planning for the future means dreaming about the future, too.

Will she find love again?

She’s open to it! Though she admitted she “doesn’t know” if she’ll ever marry again, she’s excited about the idea of a future romance. “It’s nice to spoon at night. It’s nice to sit by the fire with somebody,” she admitted. With her new positive outlook, we’re sure she’ll find that soon.
