Thank you, next! Wendy Williams claimed that her estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, controlled her business prior to their divorce.

“Now, the difference in my business is that — you know, ‘cause it used to be Kev and the team would show up, and then Kev wouldn’t bring me in until he knew, ‘OK, the deal’s done. Now it’s time for you to meet the people,” the 54-year-old replied when she was asked about the difference in career advice for women and men at the FWD conference on Thursday, June 20, in a video obtained by The Blast. “Not now. I wanna be in on the first conversation of the deal, and I wanna be on every meeting until the deal is done. And that’s the way I roll.”

The Wendy Williams Show host continued to explain how she made it in the industry. “You’ve gotta be at the ground floor of your operation,” she said. “I don’t care how big you get. You’ve got to show up, be on time, dressed appropriately and don’t just rely on your team to bring back the information because you’re such a big shot, and you don’t have to be there. No.”

The blonde beauty explained to the audience that females should be selfish in their 20s and maybe hold off on having a child for the time being. “I have said this so many times on the radio and TV — kids are an obligation and that obligation will slow you down. You will not be able to move to Idaho in a studio apartment because that is what you can afford, you know what I’m saying,” she said. “That is one thing as far as the men because sometimes you all drop your seed, even though you love your kids. It’s the baby’s mom, it’s us, the primary parent. All of a sudden you want to be a rapper and you think you’re going to go on tour or whatever. Look, kids get in the way. I mean, I love them, don’t tell them, but kids get in the way. That is number one.”

However, the New Jersey native made it clear that you don’t need to put your love life on hold to have a growing career. “Love will always be there, you just keep it in your mind. Just like my mom told me, ‘Wendy, always make time for a personal life,’” she said. “I am a wife and/or serious girlfriend. I am not one of these girls who, you know, ‘I don’t need no man.’ Do everything all about you in your 20s.”

The Ask Wendy author filed for divorce from Kevin — they share 18-year-old son Kevin Jr. — in April after 21 years of marriage. But Wendy is trying to move on with her life, once and for all. The Emmy nominee posted a photo of herself with her new beau Marc Tomblin — a 27-year-old hunk — on Instagram on June 10. “Last night was the most beautiful sunset in Sherman Oaks with special people,” she wrote. “Thank you, California! You’ve won me over! … #oldenoughtobeyourmother #verysexyman #mynewlife.”
