Wendy Williams Admits Season 10 of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ Was ‘Hell for Me’
Honesty hour. Wendy Williams got candid about how she has felt this past year during season 10 of her talk show series, The Wendy Williams Show, on Thursday, August 1.
“This season has been well, hell for me, in a weird way,” she confessed to the audience. “I appreciate doing this show because it’s my one hour where I get to be fun and forget about stuff. You have seen me pass out this season, you’ve read in tabloids and the paparazzi and all of that, but through it all, my one joy aside from my son and my family is you.”
However, the 55-year-old made it clear that her show will eventually go off the air at some point down the line. “I am not doing this show forever, but I certainly will be back for season 11. A lot of people didn’t think we could do it, but we did it,” she said. “I love you for watching, and I will see you next time on Wendy. Bye!”
It’s not surprising that the New Jersey native has been feeling this way since she has been through a lot in the past year. In February, the blonde beauty took three weeks off to deal with her hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease. “Wendy is a true champion and has never missed a day of work,” a rep for the show said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “But her health and well-being must be put before all else.”
Then, in December 2018, the mom of one fractured her shoulder. One month later, Wendy revealed she delayed her return to her talk show due to more health issues. “As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy experienced complications regarding her Graves’ disease that will require treatment,” her family said in a press release at the time. “Wendy will be under strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital. Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being.”
More bad news arrived for the Ask Wendy author in April when she filed for divorce from her husband of more than 21 years, Kevin Hunter. She later revealed she also she suffers from lymphedema. However, it seems like there is a silver lining in all of this: Wendy admitted that she started seeing someone new in July. “Well, I’m not on the market anymore,” she said. “I don’t know how I’m doing! I’m not in love, but there’s somebody that I’m crazy about.”
Hopefully, her next chapter of life is just getting started!
