It’s hard to believe that after nearly nine years and eight seasons, The Vampire Diaries will be airing their show’s finale tonight, March 10.

Ahead of tonight’s big ending, many fans have been wondering what time the last episode will be airing! Fortunately, we have answers!

Tonight’s finale will air at 9 p.m. on The CW, after a one-hour retrospective called The Vampire Diaries: Forever Yours, which will feature interviews with the cast members (both past and present), a look back with the show's executive producers, and behind-the-scenes footage from the past eight seasons of the beloved show.

Fans have been especially excited for tonight’s big episode after it was revealed earlier this year that Nina Dobrev — who played Elena Gilbert — will be returning for the series finale following her departure in 2015.

She announced her return back in January, when she shared a picture (above) of a TVD script and wrote, “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever.”

In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Paul Wesley (who plays Stefan) revealed that Elena’s return to Mystic Falls will be super nostalgic for fans of the series.

“I kept having these kind of flashbacks to Season 1 on specific sets — I don’t want to give away the sets because I don’t know what I’m allowed to say — but I remember we were like kids and our lives were completely different,” he gushed. “Ian [Somerhalder]’s priorities and his sort of outlook, as well as mine and Nina’s, we were all so radically different than what they are now. I had this surreal moment where I just looked at [Ian and Nina] and I just thought, ‘Oh my goodness, we’re doing a very similar scene to what we did eight years ago yet the way our brains are wired and our priorities have completely shifted.’ It’s just amazing how you can take people eight years later, plop them in the exact same situation, and they’re completely different human beings.”

While fans may remain optimistic that this isn’t the last we’re going to see of the beloved cast, Paul said he plans on leaving Stefan behind after tonight’s episode.

“No spin-offs,” he said. “There’s no going back, which is a bigger deal in many ways.”

Be sure to tune in to The CW tonight at 8 p.m. for the retrospective, and 9 p.m. for The Vampire Diaries’ final farewell!
