Shortly after former 16 & Pregnant star Valerie Fairman was found dead after a possible overdose, the 23-year-old's mother, Janice Fairman, has since opened up on how the reality star's daughter, Nevaeh, 7, has been coping with the tragic news.
"I have her child [Naveah], I've had custody of her," Janice told E!. "She's doing very well. She wanted to go to school because of the parties today so I let her go to school, and the counselor said she's doing very well. She talked to her twice. She's surrounded by support and friends."
"We're going to do a memorial, but we don't know when yet because the body hasn't even been released," she continued.
Further, Janice also revealed that she was aware of her daughter's battle with drug addiction during her days on the MTV reality series, she "never suspected" Valerie was still using them. She believes her daughter's death is drug-related. As TMZ previously reported, investigators believe drugs played a major part in the reality star's death. The 23-year-old was visiting friends in Pennsylvania, and was later found unresponsive in a bathroom. Toxicology tests have been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

Following her appearance on 16 & Pregnant, Val battled several legal issues related to her substance abuse. In February of 2015, she was arrested for prostitution. Earlier this month, she was arrested for resisting arrest and providing false ID to police, who were forced to subdue her when she attempted to run from law enforcement.
Her mom also said Val has attempted rehab on five different occasions in the last five years, with her most recent stint was earlier this year, after she served time behind bars for violating the terms of her probation.
Her 16 & Pregnant cast mates have since offered their condolences to Val and her family, and Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham recently spoke with In Touch about the unfortunate event.
