She’s finally here! Tyler Baltierra and his wife, Catelynn Lowell, gave birth to their third daughter, Vaeda Luma, on Thursday, February 21, and now he’s revealing the meaning behind his baby girl’s unique middle name. The Teen Mom OG star shared the news in a comment on Instagram, and TBH, it’s the cutest. Keep scrolling to learn more.
“Guess whose room is almost done!? 😉😬😏” the proud dad, 27, captioned a photo of Vaeda’s (seriously stunning) nursery.

In response, one smart commenter asked, “Luma? Like sunset? Or did you go with it for another meaning?” Ty then answered the fan with a congratulatory remark, “You’re legit the first person to figure it out! Luma = sunset.” Phew, now we’ll be able to sleep at night!

Originally, the sweet couple, who have been together for over a decade, was going to name baby No. 3 “Tezlee.”

On a recent episode of the hit MTV show, Tyler, Catelynn, 26, and her mom went to an ultrasound appointment to check up on the baby. “This is the fanciest sonogram room I’ve ever been in,” he said at the time.

While chatting with their technician, the couple revealed their little girl‘s moniker. “Tezlee, it is,” Tyler proudly shared.

It sounded like they were sticking to a theme and paying homage to her big sisters, four-year-old Novalee, and Carly, 9.

So why the sudden change of heart? Well, it’s not exactly clear. Perhaps when she was born they just didn’t think she looked like a “Tezlee” anymore!
“The big news is that we are expecting our rainbow baby. This baby is our rainbow after the storm. I’m super excited,” Cate, who teased an upcoming announcement on Instagram in August, told the outlet at the time. “It was a huge shock at first. We were not planning it, especially after the miscarriage and how I went downhill with my mental illness.”

She added: “We were going to wait a really long time. We were using protection and everything and still got pregnant. This baby just wanted to be here. It was very unexpected.”

On the Feb. 26, 2018 episode, fans witnessed the heartbreaking moment when Cate miscarried her baby. “It was very traumatic. [I saw] her shaking, and she’s got blood everywhere,” Tyler told a producer for the show. “She kinda, like, cleaned herself up and we figured what was going on. Spotting’s normal, but clotting … all the clots are not. We just sat on the bed and cried. We just held another. There’s nothing you can really do.”
But now that baby VL is safe in their arms, Tyler can’t help but gush about his brood. “This is my inspiration for everything!” he said of his family on Wednesday, March 6. “I love my family so much and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for all of my girls!”

“After this past year with our miscarriage, Cate’s mental health struggle, my dad and sister’s recovery and my own mental health journey … I thought this pregnancy couldn’t have came at a more emotionally sensitive time for us,” he continued. “But life isn’t about convenient timing and destiny works in mysterious ways. I’m just so blessed that Vaeda’s destiny was to be right here in her mother’s arms, next to her big sister, who’s wrapped in her daddy’s arms … it’s a feeling that’s unexplainable!”
