Tristan Thompson Gets Benched, Cheating Scandal Is Reportedly “Awkward” For The Cavaliers

Fans are wondering why Tristan Thompson isn't playing in the NBA playoffs after the athlete was recently benched for an entire game. The Cleveland Cavaliers were playing against the Indiana Pacers for the first-round of playoffs, and Tristan didn't even set foot on the court for a second. So what's the deal? Did Tristan Thompson get injured, or was he just feeling a little under the weather? Well, according to Hollywood Life, LeBron James and Cavs coach Ty Lue have been "discussing" how to deal with Tristan's scandal ever since videos surfaced of the baby daddy cheating on Khloé Kardashian.

“If Tristan had been playing better, then the team could justify putting him out there on the floor," a source told Hollywood Life. "But he had already been upstaged by other guys on the team who were playing a lot better than he was, and it’s made sense to just sit him for the time being.” On top of that, Tristan's teammates reportedly felt "awkward" about the entire situation. “Tristan’s extreme public actions have created an awkward dynamic in the locker room between him and his teammates,” the source continued. “A lot of players on the team berated him for being so blatant about his cheating. “

This isn't the first time Tristan has been shaded during a game. On Wednesday, April 11, Tristan played in his first NBA game with the Cleveland Cavaliers since news of his affair surfaced, and, to our pleasure, was booed by the crowd while on the court.

The 27-year-old checked in to the game under the radar (likely thanks to the scandal), so it wasn't until later in the match that fans decided to boo him while his face appeared on the big screen and when he was called for a few fouls. Fans even went went as far as holding up signs that said "We ❤️ Khloé" in the stands.

To make matters even more awkward, the Cavs decided it was a good night to give away a basketball signed by the athlete for fan appreciation night (no thanks!). Thankfully, Tristan's team lost by a whopping 12 points, which is likely close to the number of women he's cheated on Koko with in the past…

Right after news of the cheating scandal broke, Tristan apologized to Khloé for days. "[Tristan]'s been in Khloé's ears apologizing, telling her that these videos aren't what they look like," a source told In Touch exclusively. "He's telling her that the girl he was with at the hotel is [a friend of a friend] and that the video of him kissing that chick last year was a stupid bet he made with one of his teammates."

But according to Life & Style, Khloé has decided to forgive Tristan… and her family isn't happy about it. "The family has given Khloé an ultimatum: 'It’s Tristan or us,'" says an insider. "They had a huge bust-up, where Kim accused Khloé of being a 'love addict' and urged her to get help. Khloé told Kim to mind her own business. But none of the family can stand to be around Tristan. Kris told him to his face that she was disgusted by his behavior."

Hopefully Tristan and Khloé sort things out soon so they can focus on raising their daughter, True.
