‘Top Chef’ Winner Paul Qui Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Girlfriend Following Drug-Fueled Night
Austin Police Department confirmed that Top Chef’s season 9 winner, Paul Qui, was arrested in Texas on Saturday, March 19 after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
According to a police report, law enforcement arrived at the 35-year-old’s apartment before 8 a.m., and heard screaming coming from inside upon arrival. When he opened the door, the chef had “blood all over his face, arms, legs and clothing,” the report notes.
Paul and his partner allegedly agreed to have “group sex” with a group of his friends, but Paul became enraged when his friends began to flirt with his girlfriend, officials reveal. According to the police report, Paul’s arrest followed a night of binging on “Xanax, cocaine, marijuana and booze.”
Following the incident, the celeb chef released a statement confirming that he will be completing a stint in rehab.
“I will be checking myself into a treatment facility in the coming days and I am appreciative of the support of my family, friends and partners. Thank you for respecting my privacy.”
