We can’t help but think that Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are the most perfect and stable couple on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, so it was puzzling for fans of the reality series to see them get into an explosive fight in a preview for the upcoming episode. In an exclusive interview with In Touch, Tom opened up about how he feels about having that play out on the small screen.

“Obviously, I’m not thrilled but [Vanderpump Rules] follows our real lives, and sometimes Ariana and I have fights, like anyone else. We’ve been together for almost four years and stuff happens and the cameras are always there,” he said via phone. Those who have been following along with this tumultuous season know the argument stems from Ari and Lala Kent showing Brittany Cartwright some incriminating audio recordings — where Jax Taylor told Faith (the former SURver he cheated with) that he had no plans to marry his longtime girlfriend among other not-so-nice comments.

In the shocking footage, Tom was pissed Ariana and Lala shared the audio with Brittany — though his longtime girlfriend explained the recording wasn’t on her phone (true, Lala had it). Ari told him she thought they should “break the f–k up.” However, they too seem to be doing just fine today.

We learned literally seconds into the season premiere that Jax, the show’s OG resident bad boy (now James Kennedy competes for that title), was rumored to step out on Brittany. Sandoval first heard the rumor from his buddy at an event, and at first, Jax denied the rumors. Eventually he came clean to the southern charmer and she seemingly decided to stick by her man after the scandal, as according to social media, the couple is still going strong today.

Jax warned us a few months back that he’d have a rough go of things this time around. “It’s rough. It’s really, really rough. Out of all the six seasons that we’ve done, this was the worst for me. The worst. I’m absolutely dreading it. I’m probably going to go into hiding. It’s bad,” he explained. Watch the drama play out on Monday night at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
