Tom Cruise and His Son, Connor, Make a Rare Appearance Together in London
Father-son outing! Tom Cruise made a rare public appearance with his son, Connor Cruise, in London on Saturday, October 12. According to People, the duo was spotted heading to a private helicopter. Inside, Connor, 24, learn some aviation basics from Tom, 57, who previously learned how to fly a helicopter for his role in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
For their daytime outing, Tom and Connor matched in casual, black outfits. Tom wore dark wash denim jeans, a black long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt and black boots, while Conor also wore a black hooded sweatshirt with dark jeans, but he chose a gray sneaker for his footwear.
Later that day, Connor took to his Instagram Story to share a mirror selfie photo, showing off his dapper nighttime look of a white button-down shirt, a navy blue suit, black tie and pocket square. In a second slide on his Instagram Story, Connor showed off his fancy footwear — a pair of black Gucci loafers. It’s unclear where Connor was heading, but it seems like he’s enjoying spending time with his dad abroad.
Tom shares Connor and 26-year-old Isabella Cruise with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. Tom and Nicole, 52, adopted Connor and Isabella during their marriage. But after Tom and Nicole divorced in 2001, it seems like Connor and Bella grew closer with their dad, due to their shared religious beliefs as Scientologists, and they grew estranged from their mom. Over the years, Bella and Connor both chose to live their lives outside of the public eye, despite their A-lister parents.
Last month, Nicole opened up about her estranged relationship with Connor and Bella during an interview with The Sun. “Motherhood is about the journey,” the Big Little Lies star said. “There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love.”
She also opened up about Connor and Bella’s decision to follow in their father’s footsteps and continue to remain a part of the Church of Scientology. “They have made choices to be Scientologists,” she added. “It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love.”
