Tom Brady’s Ex Bridget Moynahan Seemingly Shades Him After Super Bowl Win and We Are Cringing

Awkward. It kinda seems like Tom Brady’s ex Bridget Moynahan shaded him following his Super Bowl win with the New England Patriots and we are cringing a little. The Patriots won the game on Sunday, February 3, and afterward, Bridget tweeted, “Congratulations @TB12sports @Patriots thinking @Edelman11 #MVP.” Just for context, TB12 Sports was co-founded by Tom and Alex Guerrero, so it does appear that Bridget congratulated her ex for the win. However, she also suggested that his teammate Julian Edelman should be the Super Bowl MVP. Ouch.

Julian, 32, did ultimately win the MVP honor. Tom, 41, said of his teammate, according to ESPN, “He played the best game of the year. He’s a fighter. I’m just so proud of him. He’s been an incredible player for this team.” So no hard feelings between the Patriots players, though whether there is any between Tom and Bridget, 47, is not totally clear, especially considering the possible shade here.

Bridget, an actress and model, dated Tom from 2004 to 2006. She learned that she was pregnant with his child after their split, and they share a son — John, 11. By the time he was born, the NFL quarterback had already started seeing Gisele Bündchen, whom he married in 2009. The couple share two kids — son Benjamin, 9, and daughter Vivian, 6.

Bridget is now married to businessman Andrew Frankel. And it seems like the exes keep it civil — at least off of social media. She told More magazine in March 2011, “I never made a comment about Gisele or Tom publicly. I have a relationship with these people on a daily basis. I’m raising a child, and it’s public. My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it’s cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love.” That’s actually really lovely.

As for Gisele, she wrote in her memoir Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life that she, “wanted to be there for Jack and Tom, and do whatever I could to create stability in their lives, and help them to have a close relationship.” She also called Tom’s oldest child, “a huge gift and a blessing.” So at least when it comes to Bridget and Gisele, it sounds like they work hard not to shade one another for the sake of the kids. Tom might be a different story!
