Season 2 of USA network’s ‘real-life family comedy’ Chrisley Knows Best premiered last week to a record 2.3 million viewers. But does daddy dearest and star Todd Chrisley really know best?
The sharp-tongued patriarch of the Chrisley family has always portrayed a perfect family life for the highly rated show, which includes his wife, 4 children, mom Nanny Faye and 2-year-old grandchild, Chloe.
But one family member’s not so happy with the picture perfect scenario Chrisley has depicted, and it’s his own son, Kyle. The 23-year-old, also Chloe’s father, outraged as being ousted from the family is now speaking out against him, describing the reality star dad as a “bankrupt, toxic snake” who shut him out of his child’s life.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Kyle Chrisley paints a picture of his famous father that is very different from the one the world sees each week. “My dad showed no interest in Chloe at all until the show and until it was pointed out that having a mixed race child and getting her and all that would be good for his demographic…..He didn’t want to see her before then. He said he wanted nothing to do with her…”
He goes on to say that although he did battle drugs and sobriety many times in the past, today he is clean and sober, and fighting a court battle to get back custody of his child and sever all legal ties to his father.
In the new season, Todd Chrisley does address the absence, saying, “My eldest son Kyle has had some difficulty in his life which is unfortunately as a result of Kyle doing drugs. We still struggle with this. We’ve been dealing with this since 2009…” The patriarch also took to Twitter implying Kyle was ‘missing’ and ‘hopefully we will locate Kyle soon’.
Kyle however claims he doesn’t know where his daughter lives, and says Chrisley will not tell him. “My dad is all about control. He’s vindictive and manipulative. He’s a snake and if there’s a snake in the grass you don’t know but hell [sic] it’ll bite you when you go by.’
