It turns out 90 Day Fiancé star Pedro Jimeno wasn’t the only one hiding a secret from the Everett family. Pedro and his wife, Chantel Everett, currently star on their own TLC spinoff, The Family Chantel, which gives fans a closer looks at their tense family dynamic — which includes their immediate family members. Just like her parents did for Pedro, Chantel decided to hire a private investigator to look into her sister, Winter‘s boyfriend, Jah, and they learned that he was hiding a secret child. During the episode that aired on Monday, August 19, Chantel’s mom, Karen, shared an update about how Winter has been handling the devastating news.

“Right now, Winter, she is visibly hurt and also very confused. I think we are all confused, really,” Karen explained in her confessional. “I do not know at this moment in time if he has provided her with any sort of excuse as to why he did not inform her that he has two children. I want to know.”

Earlier this season, Chantel, 27, and Karen visited the same private investigator that they previously hired to look into Pedro, 27. But this time, they wanted more information on Jah. Winter, 24,  had been in a relationship with Jah, 27, for about six years and Jah confided in Chantel and Pedro that he was thinking about asking Winter to marry him soon — and that’s when Chantel realized that she didn’t know much about him at all and decided to dig into him.

When Karen and Chantel received the results from the investigation, they were in for a shock — while they already knew that Jah was a father to a little girl, the private investigator revealed that Jah also had a 9-year-old son from a previous relationship. On top of that, Jah had also been paying child support for his son from quite some time — all while keeping it a secret from his girlfriend.

Winter was obviously upset when she found out that Jah was hiding something so monumental from her, but when she confronted him about it, he refused to explain himself on camera. It didn’t seem like the couple ended their confrontation on good terms, because Jah ended up calling a ride and leaving their apartment. Fans will just have to tune in to find out why Jah didn’t come clean to Winter sooner.

The Family Chantel airs on TLC Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
