Surprise! The Amazing Race season 37 fan-favorite couple Josiah Borden and Alyssa Borden have announced that she is pregnant and expecting baby No. 1.
“As the season of surprises comes to an end tonight, we have one more,” Alyssa, 31, captioned an Instagram carousel of maternity photos featuring her husband, 33, and their ultrasound scans on Thursday, May 15. “The world is waiting for you, Baby Borden.”
In the sweet photos, Alyssa wore a white maxi skirt and a cream-colored bandeau top as she and Josiah, wearing a white button-down and khakis, frolicked on a beach and posed on rocks. They shared kisses, stared lovingly into each other’s eyes and cradled Alyssa’s baby bump.
The end of the post revealed that the nurse anesthetists are expecting their baby in “June 2025.”
The comments were filled with congratulatory messages from Josiah and Alyssa’s Amazing Race 37 castmates, as well as fans of the show.
“AHHHH! little mark phil Brett Tyler koeghan Romain Hamby!!!” their costar Mark Romain wrote.
Jack Dodge — who won the season with best friend Carson McCalley — commented, “Best parents ever award no contest!!!”
Nick Fio, who also recently announced that he and wife Amanda Fio are expecting, wrote, “LETS FREAKING GO!!! Can’t wait for our babies to be friends.”
In addition to the post on Alyssa’s Instagram, Josiah shared a video of his wife and race partner sharing the big news with him on TikTok. The video showed Alyssa handing Josiah an Amazing Race clue envelope, but she told him, “It’s not about the race.” When he opened the envelope, he broke out in tears and gave Alyssa a big hug.
“Add one more surprise to our Amazing Race,” Josiah wrote in his caption.
The news came just hours before The Amazing Race 37 finale aired on CBS. Many fans were devastated to see Josiah and Alyssa get eliminated in the final four after a neck-and-neck race with Jonathan Towns and Ana Towns to finish a tile puzzle. Jonathan, 42, and Ana, 35, completed the puzzle just moments before the married nurses and reached host Phil Keoghan on the mat shortly before Josiah and Alyssa. The California natives, who were hit with backlash from fans throughout the season due to Jonathan’s controversial behavior toward Ana, moved on to the final three, while Josiah and Alyssa went home.
“Alyssa and Josiah were robbed!!! I hate to see them go but they truly are one of the most positive teams I’ve seen on #AmazingRace. Their marriage & partnership is beautiful! My winners,” one fan wrote on X.
“There is no worse feeling than seeing Alyssa and Josiah get eliminated … they deserved to be in that top 3,” another user added.
Though fans were sad to see Alyssa and Josiah leave the competition, the couple shared that they were proud of what they accomplished in the race.
“We worked so hard today, and I cannot put into words how much this meant to us. Our race isn’t over,” Josiah said.
Alyssa said to her husband, “I’m just glad I get to do it with you.”
