Family feud? Fans are calling Ryan Edwards out for how he treated son Bentley on the March 24 episode of Teen Mom OG — but Mackenzie Edwards (née Standifer) isn’t here for it. In the comments of her Instagram post, the MTV star clapped back at claims that her husband was being “so mean” to his son.

“Are you OK with last night’s episode?” one Teen Mom viewer wanted to know. “Your husband needs to get off drugs and needs to stop making fun of his firstborn son that he hardly even sees.” Mack, 23, shot back, “Were you there? No, but thanks for your input, hippie-stoner.”

When another fan chimed in, “Ryan is so mean to Bentley. Like WTF? [And] Mackenzie [doesn’t] even say anything to him? WTF was that about?” she broke the issue down even further. “It was friendly competition,” the mom of three shared. “Everyone had planned this golf trip weeks in advance with all of the smack talk that went along with it. We had a great time!”

The commenter wasn’t so sure. In another response, they claimed “Bentley always looks so afraid to be around Ryan” and wrote they “hope Ryan isn’t mean to [Mackenzie] or him.” This time, the OG star was happy to be able to confront the rumors. “I can see how you would think that through the show’s lens,” she said. “But that’s not the case in person.”

Previously, the blonde beauty set the record straight about the differences between the reality TV show and actual reality. In a March 16 Q&A with fans, she broke down the biggest misconceptions viewers have about the Edwards family. Explaining that she’s not a bad person, she admitted that she does occasionally lose her temper after bottling everything up. On-camera, she can seem insensitive when she laughs, but it’s just her natural reaction when she’s nervous. As for Ryan, she insisted that he’s not “non-existent,” as some fans believe.

Being on the show can complicate family relationships, though. Whenever she and Ryan have a fight — or their family has issues with his parents or Ryan’s ex Maci Bookout — she dreads watching the drama back. The star confessed that “having to revisit awkward or difficult situations” after she’s already moved on is like “opening an old wound,” but their jobs aren’t all bad. Though she occasionally finds herself defending her family online, there’s something special about the cameras capturing the cute moments she and her husband share with their kids.
