So sweet! Teen Mom OG stars Catelynn Baltierra (née Lowell) and Tyler Baltierra shared touching birthday messages in honor of their daughter Carly, 11 years after they placed her for adoption.

“May 18th, 2009 at 10:39 a.m., you took your very first breath and changed me in so many different ways,” Cate, 28, wrote on Instagram. “Today, you turn 11 … Happy Birthday, my sweet Carly. I love you big as the sky.”

In his own post, Tyler, 28, added, “11 years ago, I watched you take your first breath. 11 years ago, I held you [and] your birth mother in my arms as we both gazed upon your angelic face, never wanting to let you go. 11 years ago, you entered the world [and] changed so many lives for the better. Happy Birthday, Carly. You are forever loved by so many!”

The MTV mama also took a moment to reflect on how much time had passed just one day earlier. “Blows my mind that she’s going to be 11 tomorrow,” she shared on Sunday, May 17, posting a throwback photo of herself and Tyler holding Carly as a newborn. In the hashtags, she added her firstborn is “always in [her] heart.”

The parents regularly take to social media to celebrate their oldest daughter’s birthday. Though they only see her sporadically when they plan a visit with Carly’s parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, it’s clear the little girl is often on their minds. The Davis family does their best to keep the Baltierras present in their lives, too. “The first thing that comes to our mind is always thankfulness, gratefulness for y’all,” Brandon said during a September 2019 Teen Mom OG reunion. “I mean, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that.”

The subject of Carly’s adoption also came up during an April episode of the show as Catelynn and mom April Brockmiller hashed out their past relationship issues. Though the grandmother never wanted her daughter to place Carly for adoption, she’s since realized that Cate made the best choice for herself and her family. “You did the right thing,” she said. “I’m glad you did what you did.”

Though the mother-daughter duo often don’t see eye to eye, it was evident the moment meant a lot to the 16 and Pregnant alum. “I really appreciate hearing that, mom,” she said. And she maintains that she wouldn’t change a thing. “People are like, ‘Oh, don’t you regret it now, since you, like, have two kids and you live in this house and you’re still with your husband?’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t live like that.’ Yeah, that happened, but at the time that I placed her, I didn’t know what my life was going to be like,” Cate shared. “[Carly’s] got a great life.”
