The reality star opens up about her struggle with severe depression.

Catelynn Lowell took to Instragram just days after Robin Williams committed suicide, revealing her own experience with mental illness.

Now, the Teen Mom star opens up only in the new issue of In Touch about her ongoing battle with anxiety and depression that nearly took her life.

“My depression and anxiety were so severe,” Catelynn tells In Touch, “I didn’t want to live another day.”

“I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, which led me into a deep depression,” Catelynn, who is now nearly six months pregnant with a baby girl, tells In Touch. “I couldn’t stop crying. I felt I’d be better off dead. I needed help.”

And thanks to fiancé Tyler Baltierra, who called a psychiatrist after one of Catelynn’s terrifying breakdowns, she got the help she needed. “Tyler has battled depression and knows what it looks like, so he made my first appointment,” reveals the reality star, who was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, prescribed antidepressants (Zoloft and Abilify) and told to speak with a counselor.

Nearly one year after seeking help, Catelynn is feeling like herself again. “I’ve been taking my meds and talking to someone regularly, and it’s gotten easier,” says Catelynn, who — on the advice of her doctor — has stopped taking Abilify until she gives birth.
