Will they ever be OK? Teen Mom OG stars Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards may share a son, but these days, they have little else in common. In a new teaser trailer for the MTV show, the parents of Bentley, 10, are at odds once again when Ryan comes home from rehab. In an effort to keep the peace, Mackenzie Edwards (née Standifer) reaches out to Maci — but she’s just not sure how she feels about being in any kind of context with her ex. And what’s more, she admits she’s “still angry” about everything that’s gone down between them. Check out the gallery below to get the latest update on how Maci and Ryan are handling co-parenting.

Leaving Rehab

Ryan, 31, finished up 90 days in rehab back in November 2018. Getting treatment wasn’t just good for him, but for his family, too. Mack, 22, called those three months the “longest f–king 90 days of [her] life.”

Rehabbing Their Marriage

Once Ryan had done the work at treatment, he had to get back to working on his relationship with Mack. “If he relapses again, she’s going to file for divorce,” a source told Radar Online at the time. “She’s serious. She doesn’t want to continue to be with someone who doesn’t help himself.”

Taking Care

The star needed to step up and look after his family — and Mack said he was “the biggest help.” She gushed, “God has blessed me with the most caring husband and kids. It’s hard to be vulnerable and it means so much to have them in my corner! Don’t give up on love. It’s real. It breaks walls that have been built out of stone.”

What About Bentley?

Though Mack documented Ryan’s special moments with their newborn son, Jagger, fans wondered how his relationship was with Bentley — and, by extension, how much contact he had with ex Maci, 27.

Living the DGAF Life

Maci didn’t have much info to offer on that topic. Finally, in January 2019, a source close to the star weighed in after Ryan’s arrest. “Maci’s not surprised,” an insider said about the news. “She’s more relieved because at least he’s not out acting like a fool.”

No Contact, No Regrets

Months later, Maci herself finally spoke out, admitting that she doesn’t really have any kind of relationship with Bentley’s dad and step-mom. “It’s not negative. It’s not a bad relationship, there’s just really not one,” she told Us Weekly.

Moving On

“I haven’t seen him or anything,” Maci continued, talking about Ryan specifically. “[He] hasn’t had the chance to impact [me] or have an impact yet.” Considering Maci was granted a two-year restraining order against her ex in May 2018, that sounds about right.

Reaching Out

The new Teen Mom OG clip reveals that Ryan actually did reach out during that time, though. Because he couldn’t contact Maci directly, he had his wife, Mack, do it for him.

Making Peace

In the clip, Maci revealed, “Ryan’s been home for, like, a month now.” While talking to her husband, Taylor McKinney, she explained, “Mackenzie actually texted me and said, ‘Hey, Ryan wants to talk to you. Is it OK if he texts you?”

Tentative Truce

“I mean, technically, he’s still not supposed to, I guess,” Maci continues. Regardless, she reveals, “I was like, ‘Yeah, sure.'” While they talked, Ryan revealed that he wanted to make amends with his ex and the mother of one of his sons.

Meeting Up

“He said he would like to meet with me,” she told Taylor. “He had a lot of stuff that he wanted to say and, like, apologize for, but I’m not sure I’m in a place where I can keep my s–t together, if that makes sense.”

Bad Feelings

“I’m still angry,” she admitted. When Taylor asked what it is that she’s holding onto and that’s making her angry, she admitted that she still hasn’t totally been able to get past the threats he’s made in the past.

Two Things

“There are two things you don’t f–k with when it comes to me: my kids and my husband,” Maci explained to Taylor. “And he has done both.” In 2018, court documents revealed that the Teen Mom star had accused her ex of threatening her in voicemail messages.

Past Hurts

“He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son,” Maci said in the documents obtained by Radar Online. “He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don’t answer my phone. … [He] showed up under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me.”

Scary Behavior

“His behavior and actions are getting worse,” she continued in the paperwork. “I am fearful for my three children and myself, and what he may do, based on his threats.” The couple still hasn’t made peace.

Coming Together

Though they seem to be on neutral ground these days, Maci admitted in another recent Teen Mom OG clip that she’ll “probably … still want to punch Ryan in the f–king throat” until the day she dies.
