‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Amber Portwood Had An Emotional Reaction To Bristol And Cheyenne Joining The Cast
Can you believe it’s almost been 10 years?! The cast of Teen Mom OG came into our lives and hearts just about a decade ago and have since lived up to their ‘OG’ title —which is why it isn’t surprising that cast member Amber Portwood had some concerns over new arrivals Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd joining the cast of the show. On the Nov. 12 episode, Amber and fellow Teen Mom OG cast member, Catelynn Lowell, met outside of their hotel in New York City before heading to the MTV studio to do a promo shoot for this new season of the show. They both went live on Instagram on the way there and one fan even went as far as to ask “Bristol Palin thoughts?” in a comment on Amber’s live broadcast. “That’s why I don’t do this stuff, you guys!” Amber whined while Catelynn looked on and laughed. But once they made it up to hair and makeup, though… that’s where the laughter stopped and Amber got real about her anxieties.
“So, here’s the thing. Before we do these interviews, we need to be introduced to these girls,” Amber spoke initially on the concerns to an MTV producer in the room, who supported her concerns by assuring both Amber and Catelynn there would be time to meet and greet with the new ladies before getting on camera together. Catelynn added her own concerns to the mix, stating, “But you just threw them on our show with us, so why wouldn’t you just throw us on set together [before we meet]?” Way to call out reality show pot-stirring, Catelynn.
Once the show’s executive producer, Larry Musnik, came into the room, Amber definitely felt the ability to get a little more candid. She expressed issues with not receiving any phone calls about the new additions to the group and how much they want to stay away from another “Farrah situation,” clearly referencing Farrah Abraham‘s tumultuous relationship with the group. “This show is like family to us and we don’t want it to feel separated,” Amber explained, making it clear how she wanted the new girls to fit in with the OGs. Producer Larry was very understanding, but Amber wasn’t having it. “There have been a lot of things that have happened in ten years on this show from my f—–g life that I have let you guys watch that has been really personal,” Amber couldn’t help the tears. “So I need that respect back. We would really like some f—–g respect.”
Luckily for the OG ladies, it looks like things are going well for the newbies. In response to a sneak peek clip of the scene posted by @TeenMom on Twitter, Amber tweeted, “Umm after 10 years I damn sure think me @MaciBookout and @CatelynnLowell should have at least gotten a phone call! Thank god we all got along though with both Cheyenne and Bristol so we were ok in the end. #sendinglove 💕” We’re just glad everyone’s getting along!
