The future of Teen Mom looks rocky, to say the least. The MTV reality franchise has recently undergone switch-ups to its main cast members. Longtime Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham recently cut ties with the show after blasting it on Instagram for allowing "vulgar behavior" and "manipulation" to run rampant behind-the-scenes.

A redditor recently speculated that this is evidence that the reality show might be ending. "Do you think MTV has told the girls that the end is near?" the fan asked. Maci [Bookout] is doing voiceovers and participating in other TV shows, Jenelle [Evans], Farrah, and Kail [Lowry] are all doing YouTube videos now. They're all going out looking for ways to bring in money."

Another fan pointed out that the women might be trying to stretch out their fame as long as they can. "As a bunch of people have said here they are probably cashing in on their relevance while they still can. I agree with that, and if I was them I'd be hustling really hard," the user added. But, another added that the stars are "delusional" about how much fans are actually invested in them apart from the franchise.

"The show is still pretty popular, so I don't see it ending all that soon," the user explained. "I think Kailyn, Jenelle, and Farrah are all a little bit delusional about how interesting they actually are or how many fans they specifically have who watch the show just for them. I don't think many people are invested in Jenelle beyond her drama, so a YouTube channel is pointless for her because it’ll be super edited to make it look like her life is perfect when everyone knows it isn’t. The same goes for all three of these women — people are mostly interested in the dramatic stuff, which they'll undoubtedly edit out, so I don’t see this really being successful for them." True.

Realistically, the franchise can't continue forever (or can it?!) so a lot of fans commend the stars for looking elsewhere for work. A user wrote, "I think they are a little too famous for a regular job. Like Maci can't be a manager at Marriott or whatever. Chelsea [Houska] working in HR somewhere? Leah [Messer] a teacher? I think it would just be weird being on TV, taking days off to film, co-workers would know so much, try to sell photos, gossip. But they are not quite famous enough to live off the money forever."
