It may have taken him a while to learn his lesson, but Jeremy Calvert is finally becoming a better dad.
The Teen Mom 2 star and his ex-wife Leah Messer share four-year-old daughter Adalynn “Addie” Faith together, but it was hard for them to work out their co-parenting skills after their divorce — especially after Jeremy started dating his ex-fiancée, Brooke Wehr. But now that they’ve split up, he admitted what Leah accused him of all throughout Season 7 of the hit MTV series.

“When [your] ex-wife sends you pics of [your] child…now [a] days that’s not allowed if [you’re] dating someone,” the 28-year-old wrote in the caption of the now-deleted post. “I feel horrible, I should have pulled my head out of my ass and stood up for myself and my child. But [thank] God I did before it was [too] late to do so. Addie will always come before any woman I settle down with from now on. She will be there for me when others won’t be.”
Leah constantly accused Jeremy of not spending enough time with their daughter after things started to get serious between him and Brooke — and he started to hang out more with her and her daughter from a previous relationship.
During one particular scene during the season, Leah broke down in tears because Jeremy left Addie alone with his mother while he went to go pick up Brooke’s daughter.
“I guess I’m going to have to figure out something with his mom to get Addie,” Leah said.
She explained that she wanted Addie to spend time with her sisters — Leah’s seven-year-old twin daughters Ali and Aleeah — but she was willing to make that sacrifice if Addie would be spending time with her dad, which wasn’t the case.
“That’s not fair, you see this little girl all week — you don’t see Addie all week,” Leah said, choking back tears. “Like, that’s what breaks my heart for this kid.”
