We’re keeping her in our thoughts! Hurricane Florence is still wreaking havoc on the east coast despite the fact that it weakened to a tropical depression on Sunday, Sept. 16, and states like North Carolina and South Carolina have been affected by heavy flooding, which is where Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans and her family lives. Jenelle took to Twitter to ask fans for prayers because her mom, Barbara Evans, is in an area that is really being affected. Watch the video above to see the update she gave fans about her mom.

Jenelle lives near Wilmington, NC, and her home is located more inland, but she still was still seeing the effects of the hurricane in her area.

“This is insane. Lots of rain, flooding, washed out roads, broken dams, falling trees killing people, tornados, dolphins in the streets, sharks on highways, alligators running around, and wild snakes outside swimming,” Jenelle tweeted. “What else can go wrong?”

But Jenelle got a ton of backlash from fans earlier in the week because many of them felt that she wasn’t taking it seriously enough — and she even seemed to downplay the severity of the situation on Instagram. “Live life like the innocence of a child’s mind. #WhatHurricane #BoyToys,” she wrote.

Fans slammed Jenelle in the comments. “What hurricane? Gee, I don’t know maybe the hurricane that is killing people and destroying homes,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Wait I was just watching the news last night for NC and it was like a swimming pool, people floating in boats. Why is she acting like it’s nothing?”
