Taylor Swift (And Twitter) Were *So* Not Here for T-Pain’s Joke About ‘Headbutting’ Her ‘Boob’
We. Are. Cringing. On Thursday, March 14, T-Pain hosted the iHeartRadio Music Awards. All things considered, the rapper, 33, did a fairly decent job … save for one super awkward joke he made at the expense of Taylor Swift. “Taylor, I never apologized to you. The first time we met, you’re so much taller than me that I thought you were standing on something,” T-Pain began.
“So, without looking down, I tried to stand on whatever I thought you were standing on and bam! Headbutted you right in the boob. I am so sorry. That was not my intentions.” We’ll go ahead and give you a moment to process the fact that a grown man thought it was a good idea to say that on live freakin’ television.
OK … we’re back! Not only did the “Bad Blood” singer, 29, look mortified, but her fans were also pretty darn upset. “This T-Pain exchange [with] Taylor was the most awkward thing I’ve seen in the history of forever,” one user wrote on Twitter, along with the hashtag “Eek Face.” Ummm, yeah, eek face, indeed! “She looked so awkward. Poor thing,” added another.
Given the fact that Taylor has dealt with a lot of scrutiny in her career, it’s hardly surprising that her loyal fanbase would take issue with T-Pain’s crummy story. Even so, the blonde beauty ended up having a stellar evening! We stan a resilient queen. Taylor snagged the award for Tour of the Year and of course, delivered quite a powerful acceptance speech.
She detailed the fact that a lot of people doubted her ability to fill stadiums and even predicted that her tour would be a “massive failure.” As we now know, however, that was totally not the case. “One of the things I have learned is that life is unpredictable and people can make forecasts, and they can make predictions but those predictions and forecasts may not come true if there is an unforeseeable factor involved and that unforeseeable factor, in this case, was my fans,” Taylor expressed.
