Earlier that same day, Suri was spotted with her mom, Katie Holmes. The duo appeared to be deep in conversation after grabbing a quick bite to eat. Suri was carrying a tasty croissant and an iced beverage during their outing in the Big Apple.

Model Behavior
Apparently, modeling may even be in Suri’s future. “Modeling agencies are practically beating Katie’s door down to sign Suri up,” a source told Radar Online in May. “Suri’s really excited — she’s very much a little performer.” However, the 40-year-old actress has a few concerns about her next endeavor. “[Katie] was basically a child star herself and isn’t sure if she wants Suri growing up in the industry,” the insider added.

Doting Parent
Even though the Ohio native is a single parent — she was married to Suri’s dad, Tom Cruise, from 2006 to 2012 — she tries to keep her daughter grounded as much as possible. “Of course, you try your best. I try very hard because I’m very grateful for my upbringing, my parents, my siblings,” she revealed on the Today show in 2014. “I try to do what they did for me for my little one.”

The Dawson’s Creek alum also stated that her daughter is her number one priority. “My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now. It’s very important that I’m present, and she has a stable, innocent childhood,” she told Town & Country magazine in March 2017.

The mom of one is super proud of the woman Suri is becoming. “She is so sweet and well-mannered. She’s just a good girl who is a joy to be around,” a source told Us Weekly. “Katie has done things right with her because she’s very grounded and down to earth.”

Where’s Tom?
Katie is frequently photographed with her daughter since the Mission: Impossible hunk is not really involved in Suri’s life. A family source told Us Weekly in August 2016 that Tom hadn’t “seen or even called Suri in about three years.” A second insider confessed that the actor has “no relationship with Suri.”
