We never thought we’d ever mention Spencer Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence in the same sentence, but here we are. The former Hills villain, 34, opened up in a new interview about his beef with J-Law, 26, and explained why he feels personally victimized by the A-list actress.
Speaking with sister social media personalities Claudia “Girl With No Job” Oshry and Jackie “Jackie O Problems” Oshry on the Friday, Aug. 11, episode of their Facebook Live series, The Morning Breath, Spencer laid into Jennifer. According to the reality TV alum, Jen shaded him in a recent cover story interview with Vogue, in which she slammed celebrities who have a thing for crystals.
“When I first moved in, the house was crystalled out — crystals everywhere, and geodes,” she told the fashion magazine of her newly purchased home. “And I was like, ‘Please get rid of these; I don’t want people to come over here and think I’m a crystal person.’ … I hate crystals.”
As we all know, Spencer is the proud poster child of celebrities who are obsessed with crystals. His love affair with the natural rock formations began in 2010, toward the end of his four-season run on The Hills. To this day, the How to Be Famous author still carries five crystals at a time — amethyst, black tourmaline, moldavite, a sacred Shiva Lingam stone, and a small meteorite — to keep those good vibes alive. So, obvi, Spence does not appreciate Jennifer’s rude remarks about crystal enthusiasts.
“She was talking about me in Vogue — like, one hundred percent!” Heidi Montag’s husband said. “I’m the crazy crystal person she’s clowning. So I’ll see her. We’ll bump into each other at the Beverly Hills Hotel — like I see all the A-listers and they run from me.”
During his chat on The Morning Breath, Spencer also discussed his recently adopted gluten-free diet, which helps with a newly diagnosed skin condition. The soon-to-be dad (who’s expecting a baby boy with Heidi, 30, this October) frequently gets rashes if he does not eat properly.
And naturally, he has placed the blame on crystal-hating Jennifer. “It’s spells. It’s little bitch-ass, voodoo hoes. It’s Jennifer Lawrence!” he said, adding that the Oscar winner is at the top of his “beef radar.” If Jennifer’s comments about crystals were in fact aimed at Spencer, that would be pretty disappointing since she has previously expressed her intense love for reality TV — particularly, The Hills.
During a February 2015 profile with Interview magazine, the blonde beauty and Eddie Redmayne admitted that re-watching the MTV show (which ran for 6 seasons from 2006 to 2010) is one of their guilty pleasures. “I’ve been a closet lover of faux-reality TV since The Hills. It’s bad,” Eddie confessed at the time, to which Jennifer responded, “I feel like I’m going to cry. We’re making a breakthrough.”
