‘Southern Charm’ Star Kathryn In Custody Battle With Thomas Amid His Sexual Assault Allegations

She’s fighting back. Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis is in the middle of a nasty custody battle with her ex and baby daddy Thomas Ravenel, according to documents obtained by The Blast. In the filing, Kathryn is bringing up Thomas’ sexual assault allegations as a way to try to prove that he is unfit to keep joint custody of the former couple’s two children.

Thomas, 56, originally filed paperwork in an attempt to keep their joint custody arrangement in place. In 2017, a court-ordered doctor submitted a report which claimed that both parents were fit to maintain joint custody and co-parent 4-year-old daughter Kensington and 3-year-old son St. Julien. But Kathryn, 27, pointed out that since the report had been submitted, there have been new details about Thomas that have come to light and it would likely change the doctor’s conclusion.

Kathryn brought up the allegations that claimed Thomas had sexually assaulted a woman named Debbie Perkins, which came to light in May 2018, as a reason why Thomas would be unfit to parent their young children. At the time, a woman named Ashley Perkins claimed that Thomas met her mother, Debbie, on Tinder in December 2015 and sexually assaulted her. Thomas also allegedly paid Debbie $200,000 to keep quiet about the alleged sexual assault. Thomas’ attorney denied the accusations.

Kathryn also pointed to Thomas’ arrest in September 2018 on second-degree assault and battery charges against the children’s former nanny, Dawn Ledwell, who made appearances on the Bravo reality TV series Southern Charm. In the arrest affidavit, obtained by People, claimed that Thomas allegedly “undressed and made sexual advances” towards Dawn while she was still employed by the couple as a nanny. After Thomas’ arrest, Bravo fired Thomas from the show.

On top of Thomas’ sexual assault accusations, Kathryn also claimed that Thomas has exhibited “other incidents of bizarre behavior arising out of his intoxication due to a mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs,” according to The Blast. Thomas’ lawyer denied Kathryn’s allegations in a statement to People.
