Jennifer Snowden was finally able to bring her baby son, James Ascher (who will be referred to as Ascher), home — after he was diagnosed with a brain encephalocele and placed in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) after his birth on Sep. 12.

“We are now home after a tumultuous first few days. He is a strong little man,” the Southern Charm star wrote on Instagram.

UPDATE: Ascher was born on Mon 9/12 @ 7:50am. He is doing great & we are now home after a tumultuous 1st few days. He is a strong little man. I'm trying to give him some time to himself but I'll post a pic soon. Even my friends haven't seen him yet. It's been a just family kind of thing to give him some space to get stronger which he has. Thank you all for your kind words & concern. I've not been on my phone at all since Monday but I'll be back next week. Thank you again 💙💙💙 much love, jennifer 😇Our little baby Ascher is being born tomorrow @ 7am – if you're up around that time or not too busy today, please say a prayer for him that his encephalocele on his brain has continued to be miraculously healed in the womb, which was evidenced by his 2nd fetal MRI on 7/28. We've been on a crazy emotional trajectory with this little guy but are so blessed by the news from 7/28 & hopeful that his prognosis remains the same or, God willing, even better once he's born & the doctors can evaluate him more. THANK YOU ALL 😘. I believe with all of my heart that Your prayers have helped turned this little boy's fate around. And for that, I am forever in your debt. 💙Love, Jennifer
