‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown’s Parowan Bed-and-Breakfast Won an Award: Tour of Lizzie’s Heritage Inn!

Proud business owner! Meri Brown is the owner of Lizzie’s Heritage Inn in Parowan, Utah — the purchase of which was a big storyline previously on Sister Wives. Thankfully, her persistence in buying the property that once belonged to her great-great-grandparents paid off. 

The bed-and-breakfast has won several awards over the years, including Official Best of America for being a “Best Country Inn” in Utah for both 2018 and 2019.

“I’ll just leave this right here,” Meri captioned photos via Instagram in September 2019 from a video about the inn and its honor. “After I do a little happy dance!” 

The bed-and-breakfast features plenty of beautiful antiques, which were highlighted in the award video from 2019. The clip showed a photo of Meri’s grandmother, Lizzie, as well as a hat she made. “She actually was a milliner,” Meri revealed. The house even as a painted made by Meri’s grandma displayed on a wall. 

The video continued to display the living room where a telegraph office once was, according to the Sister Wives star’s narration. “The home has four rooms,” she explained, as the clip showed each space off. Specifically, Meri talked about the “Grandma Room,” which she said was once her grandmother’s own childhood bedroom. The video also displayed a sweeping view of the beautiful backyard including a patio where Meri explained guests can enjoy breakfast in the morning and sunsets in the evening. The house truly is a beauty.

On season 12 of the TLC series, Meri sat down with her ex-husband, Kody Brown, and his other wives — Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown — to talk about buying the property that once belonged to her family, but they were a little reluctant. Kody, for example, didn’t think the opportunity was all that lucrative. However, Christine — whom Meri has shared a strained relationship with in the past — was actually pretty supportive of Meri’s dream.

In a confessional on the show, Meri was quite protective of the inn and worried about her family getting too involved. “This is my baby,” she explained. “They don’t care about the house or the bed-and-breakfast business. Once I get this house done, I don’t want to have any more business meetings about my house. I want to run my business my way.” 

Meri has since begun to periodically offer exclusive retreats including in October 2022 and February 2023. 

“I am so excited about this one. We have so many good things planned,” she announced via Instagram in January 2023. “It’s gonna be about love, of course, because it’s February.”

The retreat — which promised “rest,” “rejuvenation,” and “pampering” — cost between $4,000 and $6,000 and was met with backlash from fans over the high pricetag. Rumors began swirling that the three-night event was canceled after Meri went Live on Instagram from her home in Flagstaff, Arizona, hours before the retreat was set to begin in Utah.
