Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary, a.k.a Mr. Wonderful, was involved in a tragic boating accident on Saturday, August 24, in Ontario, Canada. The catastrophe left one man dead and a woman critically injured, and Ontario Police confirmed to In Touch that the woman has died after succumbing to her injuries from the boat crash.

“Late Saturday night, I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident,” the 65-year-old’s rep relayed in a statement to In Touch on Wednesday, August 28. “I am fully cooperating with authorities. Out of respect for the families who have lost loved ones and to fully support the ongoing investigation, I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time. My thoughts are with all the families affected.”

Wife Linda O’Leary was driving the boat when it crashed into a larger vessel, going directly over its bow and striking a male massager in the head. He was killed instantly, Kevin’s rep confirmed. Additionally, a woman on the opposing boat was left with serious brain damage and was on a ventilator before her death. A passenger on Kevin’s boat was also injured and sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Linda, 46, was administered a DUI test the same night and passed.

Although Kevin and Linda have been cooperating with authorities since the horrible accident, there are conflicting reports as to what exactly happened that night. Kevin’s rep told TMZ that the other boat fled the scene, while the owner of the larger vessel is accusing the Shark Tank star of fleeing. Other sources told the outlet that a critical element of the investigation is whether the larger vessel had its light on. If so, that means they could have seen the O’Leary’s at the time of impact.

Kevin and Linda have a house in the area and frequently enjoy boating trips with their family. An eyewitness described Kevin’s boat involved in the crash as a wakeboarding boat. The investigation is still ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved in the accident.
