Since Scarlett Johansson got her start in Hollywood in the early ’90s, she’s become one of the most famous actors in the world. In addition to the New York City native’s impressive list of roles and accolades, Scarlett is a style icon — and that includes some memorable braless moments over the years.
Whether she’s posing on the red carpet at an awards show or attending a movie premiere (that she’s no doubt starring in), the mother of two, who shares daughter Rose with ex Romain Dauriac and son Cosmo with husband Colin Jost, always looks incredible.
However, Scarlett has made it clear she dresses to impress … other women! “I think a lot of times, guys think that we dress for them, and, you know, all that stuff. But it’s really not true. We actually do it for girls,” ScarJo explained at the Russian premiere of The Avengers in 2012. “I’d way rather have my girlfriend say, ‘Ooh, that’s a cute dress!’”
Ultimately, the Oscar Award winner is never afraid to take a risk, especially with her hair. In the past, ScarJo has switched up her hair color and length on a number of occasions, most notably when she cut it all off in 2014 after giving birth to Rose.
“I think I just got tired of wearing a ponytail all the time. I [was] always stuffing it under a wig, so I just cut it off. Everybody kept saying, ‘Don’t cut your hair! You might hate it!’ But then I thought, ‘Why am I letting other people tell me what to do?'” Scarlett told Refinery29 at the time.
While the Black Widow star looks terrific with short hair, her decision to get a haircut was also about convenience! “I can just wash and go,” ScarJo said. “It’s hard for any parent with a new kid. Your brain is totally preoccupied. But I’m very fortunate to have a job where I can take time off, and I can have my baby at work and people are more understanding. A lot of people don’t have that luxury.”
