Mark this day on the calendar, y’all! Jill Duggar took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Aug. 15 to share a pic of Samuel Dillard munching on a cucumber. So why is this big news? Well, the former Counting On star isn’t exactly a fan of fresh veggies. After all, the recent stew recipe she posted on her blog contained six canned ingredients as well as sugar and ketchup. Yuck! Unfortunately, it didn’t seem like the tiny tot enjoyed his produce. Check out the video above to see him try the veggie.

It does, however, look like he enjoys pickles! The famous family is known for their love of the canned veg, so much so, that they have a party every time a new Duggar tries one for the first time. Sounds like a great time, huh? Joy-Anna Duggar once said, “Any time a family member tries a pickle for the first time, we always go around and take videos and pictures and everyone comes around to watch their facial expression.”

Jill and Joy’s sister Jessa, once speculated that their love of pickles dates back to Michelle‘s first pregnancy. “The Duggars love pickles. I think it probably started that when my mom is pregnant she craves pickles, that is the one thing. Every time we see her eating pickles we say ‘Are you pregnant?'” Jessa explained in a 2016 episode of Counting On. So basically, Michelle is always eating pickles.

Sadly, it seems like much of Jill’s cooking skills were also passed down from Michelle — who couldn’t afford to hit up the farmer’s market with 19 children. Most recently, the mother-of-two received backlash for her Cheesy Chicken and Rice Enchiladas, which contained cans of cream of chicken soup. “Just curious! Why so many cans when there is so much fresh food available in the summer?” one person asked on Twitter. Another added, “Canned chicken?! Thanks but no thanks…”

Welp, we’re proud of her for at least taking a step in the right direction. It’s only a matter of time before she ditches the can opener for good!
