Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola Breaks Silence on Christian Biscardi Split, Confirms She’s Single

It’s over. Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola confirmed her split from fiancé Christian Biscardi.

The Jersey Shore alum, 34, posted a TikTok video on Monday, July 26, announcing the news after months of speculation.

The clip featured Q&A-style messages where she danced along to the music while captions flashed across the screen. They read, “Are you coming back to Jersey Shore? No. Are you single? Yes. Are you happy? YESSS!”

Sammi broke her silence two months after breakup rumors began to circulate. In late May, fans noticed that the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram. Moreover, Christian, 31, deleted all of his photos with Sammi from the platform and his Facebook relationship status was set to private. For her part, the former MTV personality removed the majority of her pictures with Christian from Instagram.

However, both parties remained active on social media. “Yes, there’s UFOs,” the New Jersey native captioned a shirtless photo from his seemingly solo vacation to Florida on June 2. The same day, Sammi posted a self-tanning tutorial on Instagram with her engagement ring visibly absent.

Sammi and Christian got engaged in March 2019. The couple was set to tie the knot the following year but had to postpone their nuptials due to the coronavirus pandemic. The original and rescheduled wedding date were never made public. That said, Sammi did share a number of updates with her followers, including when she chose her wedding dress in March 2020.

Now that Sammi and Christian have called it quits, Jersey Shore viewers are curious if she plans to appear on the show’s spinoff, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. In March 2018, the William Paterson University graduate made her stance on returning to reality TV clear.

“I have chosen not to join the show this season because I am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and my relationship. I am not the same as I was when I was 22,” Sammi wrote via Instagram at the time.

“At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations,” she added, likely referring to her ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, whom she dated on-and-off from 2009 to 2016. “It was a difficult decision as I love my roomies. I’ve decided to focus on me, my future and what truly makes me happy. I will forever be grateful to Jersey Shore and everything it has brought to me.”

In early May, Ronnie, 35, announced he will be stepping away from Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
