‘Teen Mom OG’ Star Ryan Edwards Gets Drunk Before His Second Wedding to Mackenzie Standifer
A stint in rehab didn't completely change Teen Mom OG star, Ryan Edwards. He's caught, in a preview clip for the show, drinking beer before his second wedding to Mackenzie Standifer. While he was supposed to be clean, Ryan continued to look for the booze saying, "I want to go get a shot real quick," before going into the ceremony.
The scene is upsetting to viewers who are familiar with Ryan's history substance abuse. Before entering rehab, his drug of choice was heroin but he didn't shy away from other substances like Xanax.
Before this more traditional wedding in front of friends and family, Mackenzie and Ryan held a secret ceremony ahead of his rehab stay, but shocked viewers when he could barely drive himself to the nuptials. Mackenzie questioned his sobriety as Ryan was behind the wheel looking visibly dazed. She had to tap him a few times just so he could focus on the road and eventually turned off the cameras placed in the car.
The audio still picked up and viewers can hear her saying, "Did you take Xanax again?" He responded, "Um, I don't…I don’t have any." But, she didn't believe him, firmly stating, "You did."
As Mackenzie and Ryan give their vows in the new clip, he seems just as out of it as the first time. A friend asked if he had prepared what to say and Ryan admits, "No! Wing it." When a groomsman tells him he should tell Mackenzie he was there for her, Ryan responds, "I don’t know if I can make that promise!"
Ryan's baby mama, Maci Bookout, was also at the wedding. The pair shares a nine-year-old son, Bentley Edwards, but Maci has made it perfectly clear that she will not allow Ryan alone with Bentley until he passes a drug test.
