Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant is ready to support costar Karen Huger while she serves time in prison for a DUI.
The Bravolebrity, 54, addressed whether or not she planned to visit Karen, 61, behind bars during her Gizelle 21 Shady Questions Live event at City Winery in New York City on Wednesday, February 26.
“Even if I don’t have a mic on my back and I don’t have a camera in my face? So, no check? You all know Gizelle is about her coins,” she joked before adding, “Yes, I’ll absolutely visit Karen.”
Gizelle later shared what she would bring with her to the prison when she visits.
“I’ll be in there giving her a nail file, giving her a shank [and] giving her a wig,” she said.
Karen was arrested in March 2024 after her 2017 Maserati hit multiple poles and crashed into a tree in Montgomery County, Maryland. Officers believed that the reality star was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
A Maryland judge sentenced Karen to two years in prison with one year suspended on Wednesday after she was found guilty of driving under the influence, negligent driving and failure to control speed to avoid collision during a trial on December 18, 2024. The charge of reckless driving was dismissed.
Karen will not be allowed to drive a car for a full year following her sentence, and she will also face five years of probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,900 in fines. The entrepreneur will have to use a breathalyzer device to start her car in the future.

During her sentencing hearing, the judge told Karen that she was “filled to the gills with alcohol” when she was arrested, according to Fox 5 Washington, D.C.
Both Karen and her husband, Raymond Huger, testified prior to the sentence being handed down. In her testimony, Karen apologized for her actions and said she would attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for the rest of her life. She also vowed to advocate against drinking and driving.
As Karen was being taken into custody following her sentencing, she shouted to her husband, “Love you, Ray. God’s got you. You’ll be alright. God bless you.”
Gizelle revealed at her event that she and Andy Cohen were keeping up with Karen’s sentencing hearing as it unfolded.
“Andy texted me all day long today and we were going back and forth because we knew that the sentencing was getting ready to happen. So we’re like, ‘Oh my God.’ He’s like, ‘Oh my God.’ Then it happened and we’re both giving our feedback on it,” she said.
Gizelle continued, “One of the last things he said to me is, ‘When this show started nine seasons ago, never in my wildest dreams would I think that any of the ladies would be going to jail for five minutes — let alone a year.’”
The EveryHue Beauty founder also thought about how RHOP would be affected by Karen’s absence.
“Love her or hate her, she’s such a staple to Potomac,” she said. “But it’s hard to even fathom that this is really happening and it’s going to take me a minute to digest that it even did happen.”
