She’s still fighting. Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel faced off in court with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy this week in another round of their nasty custody battle, and an insider exclusively revealed to In Touch that Frankel, 48, is prepared to do everything it takes for her to get sole custody of their 8-year-old daughter, Bryn.

“Bethenny wants her daughter Bryn with her every day. She knows it’s an uphill battle and Jason isn’t going away, but she doesn’t give up,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “She’s adamant about fighting for full custody because she strongly believes Bryn is better off with her.”

The RHONY star and Hoppy, 48, currently have joint custody of Bryn, but Frankel and her lawyers went before a judge on Monday, March 4, to argue that their custody arrangement is “no longer viable,” according to Radar Online. Frankel is fighting for sole custody while giving Hoppy full access.

“Why are we doing this? To protect the child,” Frankel’s lawyer explained. “The father’s behavior before and after their marriage is extremely harmful to Bryn. His abusive behavior towards her not only damages her relationship with her mother but to everyone else in her life.”

Frankel and Hoppy have had a tumultuous relationship ever since she filed for divorce in 2013. In January 2017, Hoppy was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing Frankel and she was granted a restraining order against him. During their custody court hearing, Frankel’s lawyer highlighted some of the behavior that Hoppy had exhibited that was considered abusive: he had allegedly locked Frankel’s late dog Cookie in a storage closet and had allegedly sent her more than 500 emails within a 90-day period.

In response to those claims, Hoppy’s lawyer stated, “Simply put he acted inappropriately at times. But for the last year, the parties have continued to communicate and it’s worked greatly.”

But insiders said Frankel doesn’t see it that way. “Bethenny and Jason don’t get along, they’re not civil to each other, that’s no secret,” the source explained, “but she’s determined to get the courts to see things her way.”
