They’re still going strong! The Season 5 premiere of TLC’s Return To Amish aired earlier this week, and it seems like star Jeremiah Raber and his wife Carmela are still together. The couple was very open about their struggles in their marriage, and their relationship issues almost led to a split. When the couple was separated briefly last season — and things got so bad that Jeremiah and Carmela even considered a divorce.

Jeremiah and Carmela tied the knot in 2016, and their nuptials were featured on a previous season of Return To Amish. But just a year later, they were already having issues. Though it’s unclear why or when their issues started, they came to a head on Season 4 of their hit reality TV series when, suddenly, Carmela decided to pack up the kids and left for Washington.

Jeremiah, 33, thought the reason why she left was because she was experiencing mood swings with her hormone changes after the couple started IVF in order to have a child together. He also said another possible reason was that he’d been spending a lot of time renovation their new house and not enough time with her.

Meanwhile, Carmela, 35, felt that with all of the fighting between her and Jeremiah, it was too “toxic” so she felt she needed space in order to clear her head. But Jeremiah wasn’t ready to give up on his wife or his marriage, so he made the trek to Washington to win Carmela back.

“When I try to talk to you, you shut me down. I have no one to talk to — I can’t even talk to my family,” Carmela said. “You treated me like crap all the time. I’ve never been so disrespected in my life. That is not right. I would do anything for you and you know that, and I feel like you’re taking advantage of that and I don’t like it. That is why I have to get away. Yes, I love you but it doesn’t give you the right to treat me like s–t. I have to stand up for myself.”

Jeremiah promised Carmela that he would change things and make her a priority in his life — and Carmela agreed, under the condition that they would go to marriage counseling together. It looks like it’s working because they’re still together now.
