Pete Wentz Says Coparenting With Ex Ashlee Simpson Is ‘The Easiest Part of My Life’

One big happy family! Pete Wentz had nothing but amazing things to say about his ex-wife, Ashlee Simpson, whom he was married to from 2008 until 2011. When asked about coparenting with the blonde beauty — they share son Bronx together — the 40-year-old rocker proved they’re friendly than ever. “That’s like the easiest part of my life,” he told In Touch exclusively at the grand opening of The Guitar Hotel at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida on Thursday, October 24.

Pete continued to explain that he admires “everything” about the 35-year-old “Pieces of Me” crooner. “She’s a great mom,” he gushed. Even though Pete is currently dating his girlfriend, Meagan Camper — the couple share two kids: Saint, 5, and Marvel, 17 months — he is not sure if he wants to expand his brood just yet. “Maybe! Not while I’m propped up in a guitar hotel though,” he joked.

Meanwhile, Ashlee previously touched upon her relationship with Pete, and she echoed similar sentiments. “They’re wonderful,” the Ashlee + Evan alum told Us Weekly in September 2018 about Pete and his girlfriend, noting that she “lucked out.” Ashlee’s husband, Evan Ross — they share Jagger Snow Ross, 4 — even weighed in on the situation. “It could go all different ways. I think the fact that there is a lot of respect amongst all of us. That makes it easier. And we’re all really close friends. It’s easy, we got really lucky with that.”

The E! personality and the Fall Out Boy frontman called it quits in 2011 after three years of marriage. Pete revealed after his band went on hiatus in 2010 is when things between him and the mom of two started to unravel. “At 31, we’d had all these great years as a band, and then we took time off, and I basically became Mr. Mom,” he told Howard Stern in 2015. “I had the bear, the flannel shirt. I didn’t know what my identity was. That factored in. When your identity is what you do, it’s hard when you stop doing it.”

Ashlee moved on with Evan, 31, and got married in 2014. Pete, for his part, started dating Meagan, 30, in 2011. Well, it sounds like these two should get an award for friendliest exes!
