Patricia ‘Tan Mom’ Krentcil Is ‘On Life Support’ as Her Family Rushes to Her Bedside
We’re sending our strongest well wishes and prayers out to Patricia Krentcil, a.k.a. Tan Mom, as she fights a battle with pneumonia. On Sunday, June 9, the celebrity’s songwriting partner, Adam Barta, revealed to Us Weekly that Patricia’s condition is improving, but that she’s still fighting for her life. According to him, doctors are doing everything they can to help, and family members have rushed to be by the star’s side in the hospital.
“Currently, she is still on life support (via the intubator) and in a medically induced sleep until her heart and lungs are strong enough to handle functioning on their own,” Adam, 39, revealed about 51-year-old Patricia’s condition. “The fluid is draining from her lungs and she is improving today but she is definitely not out of the woods. … They are feeding her very strong antibiotics to kill the infection as well so her system is taking quite a hit.”
However, the songwriter, who worked with Patricia on the song “Free 2 Be Me,” is confident that she will likely only improve from here. “I personally believe last night was the most critical turning point, and she made it so she will only continue to get better,” he said. “The current plan is to try to extubate and revive her tomorrow or Tuesday, provided she maintains this trajectory.” He hasn’t yet offered any further updates, though he has asked fans and followers to continue to pray for his friend’s health.
Patricia first became known as Tan Mom in 2012 when she was arrested for taking her then-5-year-old daughter to a tanning salon. After, she capitalized on her viral fame by releasing music, including a 2013 single titled “It’s Tan Mom,” as well as the hit she recorded with Adam. In 2018, they released a music video for their collaboration. “She’s back,” Adam can be heard singing on the track as Patricia responds, “I never left.” Though she briefly gave up tanning, swapping it out for Botox instead, the star appeared as tan as ever in the video. In the description, Adam promised more music from the duo in 2019. We can’t wait to hear it once Patricia is fully recovered.
