Take a Tour of All the Houses (and Apartments) the Duggars Call Home
Got a cool $2 million in the bank? Then you might be interested in checking out the LaBianca house, which recently went up for sale. There is one thing you should know, though: The gorgeous Los Angeles, California home was actually the site one of the Charles Manson killings. One night after the Manson family murdered actress Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Voytek Fyrkowski and Steven Parent at a house in Benedict Canyon, the cult leader directed his followers to the neighborhood of Los Feliz. Other than the fact that the Manson family had allegedly attended a party at a nearby house the year before, the murder of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca was totally random. 50 years later, their house is still standing — and now you can buy it. Check out the gallery below to take a peek into the infamous home.

Stunning Home
Despite its history, the Los Feliz home is absolutely breathtaking. With two beds and one-and-a-half baths, it’s a cozy little spot with an ample backyard and a gorgeous view.

Cityscape
The abode is 1,655 square feet of Spanish style architecture on a 0.71 acre lot. Not far from Griffith Park and the Rowena Reservoir, the neighborhood seems like a quaint place to go for a walk.

House with History
The one-story home was built in 1922 and is nearly 100 years old. Don’t let its compact size fool you, though. The structure has both an attic and a basement.

Seeking Solitude
Of course, the gate and relatively private location will keep plenty of morbidly curious looky-loos at bay, so you don’t have too much to worry about those obsessed with serial killers and cults.

Bad Juju
But if the home’s history is a turn-off, you may want to keep your distance. Though the Manson murder was nearly 50 years ago, it’s still covered today in true crime documentaries and on podcasts.

Vicious Killing
The LaBianca murders were particularly gruesome. According to Investigation Discovery, that was because the cult wanted to inspire “panic” both in their victims and in those who heard about the crime.

Terrifying Crime
The husband and wife couple were tied up and separated before they were stabbed to death by several of Manson’s followers, including Leslie VanHouten, though she claimed that Rosemary LaBianca was already dead at the time of her involvement.

Seeking Parole
In January 2019, Van Houten, Manson’s youngest follower, was seeking her freedom through the parole process. Though she’d previously been granted parole twice, California’s governor blocked it in 2016 and 2017.

Shirking Responsibility
“She has long downplayed her role in these murders and in the Manson Family, and her minimization of her role continues today,” then-governor Jerry Brown said during a previous appeal for parole.

Behind Bars
“Van Houten’s statements show that she still has not come to terms with her central role in these murders and in the Manson family,” he continued. “By her own account, she idolized Manson and wanted to please him.”

Striking Back
“Even today, almost five decades later, Van Houten has not wholly accepted responsibility for the part she played in these crimes,” he finished.

Speaking Out
Van Houten, however, disagrees. “I take responsibility for the entire crime,” she said in 2017. “I take responsibility going back to Manson being able to do what he did to all of us.”

Cult Control
“I allowed it,” she explained. “I accept responsibility that I allowed [Manson] to conduct my life in that way.”

Infamous Killer
Manson himself, however, passed away in November 2017. Reports indicated that, even in his last moments, he wanted to “take revenge” against those around him.

Dark Arts
Retired Los Angeles prosecutor Stephen Kay said that the killer was “obsessed” with black magic and was “making little dolls, like voodoo dolls, of people.”

Continuing Control
“He would stick needles in them, hoping to injure the live person the doll was fashioned after,” Kay explained. “He said his main activity was making those dolls.”

Reign of Terror
According to Radar Online, he had other plans, too. He aspired to “[use] voodoo potions to turn himself into a zombie and hunt down the targets who escaped him.”

Last Wishes
His final words also became the subject of a documentary. According to The Sun, he told a friend, “Gone in the sky, the dead but never die.”

Natural Causes
In the end, it was colon cancer that did Manson in. He was 83 at the time and had spent half his life behind bars.

Ongoing Story
His legacy, unfortunately lives on. Hilary Duff recently played the titular actress Manson’s family murdered in The Haunting of Sharon Tate.

Film History
Leonardo DiCaprio‘s new film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, also tells part of the story. A movie called Charlie Says is examining the aftermath of the violence. But hey, at least the home is beautiful, right?
