On this week’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé, fans were shocked when Azan and Nicole revealed that she has been supporting him for the past couple of months. The couple has returned to the Season 5 cast of the hit TLC series to continue to document their love story as they prepare to embark on the K-1 visa process. Azan explained that he had a job working in a restaurant, but he either quit or got fired because Nicole would complain whenever Azan was busy at work and couldn’t text her back. Since he’s been unemployed, Nicole has been sending him hundreds of dollars, and fans are wondering what kind of job Nicole has that allows her to support herself, her daughter, and her fiancé.

Nicole is a 24-year-old Starbucks barista from Bradenton, FL, and she’s also a single mom to a toddler named May from a previous relationship. Fans are confused about how Nicole is able to send so much money to Azan while working as a barista — especially since finances were definitely an issue last season.

After Nicole got back to the United States from her trip to Morroco to meet Azan in person for the first time, she hoped to immediately start the K-1 visa process, which is also known as the “fiancé visa” because it allows a foreigner to come into the United States if they are engaged to an American. But the catch is they are given 90 days to marry before the foreigner has to return to their country, among other very strict rules. Nicole hit a very big roadblock when she found out that she didn’t make enough money to sponsor Azan’s trip.

With the K-1 visa, the American in the relationship has to prove that they make enough money to support their soon-to-be spouse since the foreigner is not allowed to legally work in the states until they become a green card holder after the wedding. According to Rapid Visa, a Florida resident who already has two people in their household (Nicole and May) are hoping to sponsor an “alien” must have a yearly salary of $25,525 in order to become a sponsor. Nicole confirmed that she did not make that much at her job, which is why she had to convince her father to co-sponsor Azan.
