Is there a new Dark Knight on the horizon? After Hypebeast posted on Instagram that an upcoming Batman film may need a new Caped Crusader for the title role, Nick Jonas offered his services, according to Ok! magazine. That’s right — a Jonas brother as Batman. Is the world ready for it?

“#hypeflix: @benaffleck will be hanging up his role as Batman. The upcoming Matt Reeves-directed The Batman focuses on a younger Bruce Wayne, and will reportedly be casting a new member for the role. It’s slated for a June 25, 2021 release. Who do you think should play The Dark Knight?” the outlet posted to Instagram on January 31. Nick, 26, then commented on the post and wrote, “First name Nick. Last name Jonas.” Bold!

Nick may have just been joking, but honestly, why not? All sorts of famous faces have stepped into the role of Batman. If producers are possibly looking for a younger take, Nick could certainly be in the running.

Deadline reported on January 30 that Ben Affleck will not be in The Batman, which is set to be released on June 25, 2021. But the 46-year-old actor tweeted his support for the project on the same day. “Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life,” he wrote. No hard feelings, it seems!

While Nick may have mostly gotten his start as a member of the Jonas Brothers and a cast member on the Jonas TV series, he’s got plenty of other acting experiences under his belt as well. Most recently, he’s been in projects like Scream Queens and Kingdom on TV, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on the big screen. Could a turn as the World’s Greatest Detective and the owner of Wayne Enterprises be next? If the team behind the next Batman movie wants to give him a chance, we will definitely be intrigued enough to go check it out.
