Who knew? February 2 is apparently National Tater Tot Day, according to the National Day Calendar website, and you know what that means, Counting On fans: the Duggars might just be digging out their casserole dishes and whipping up several fresh batches of their famous tater tot casserole — if one of their social media-savvy kids has informed them of this very important occasion, of course.

According to the National Day Calendar, John-Bryan Hopkins created National Tater Tot Day in 2009. So if you haven’t heard of it, that’s cool, because it’s only been around for ten years. It’s not like it’s National Pickle Day or something, which has been celebrated on various days for nearly 70 years ever since the Pickle Packers Association first started encouraging it in 1949, and which the Duggars also likely have marked on a family calendar.

Tater tor casserole has been a staple in the Duggar household for a long time. TLC even posted the recipe for the dish back in August, not long after Jinger Duggar introduced it to her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. It is probably the most famous of the Duggars’ weird recipes, and while it doesn’t sound particularly nutritious or flavorful, we can see how it could feed a family with nineteen kids fairly inexpensively.

The Duggars are also famous for loving pickles, so there’s a good chance they celebrated National Pickle Day last November or that they will mark the occasion in the future. This is a family that is not shy about posting about weird food holidays on social media, after all — they celebrate “Cow Appreciation Day” every year by literally dressing up as cows to go to Chick-fil-A, as one well-known example.

So, should we expect any photos of tater tot casserole on Instagram from any of the Duggar kids to commemorate the holiday? Or will it be all cute photos of Felicity or a shot of Jana hanging out in her garden or nook? The Duggars have a full 24 hours to show their love for tater tots, and we’ll be waiting to see if they do.
