False alarm! Teen Mom 2 fans were in a frenzy after Jenelle Evans‘ ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith seemingly proposed to his girlfriend. Many thought it was a stunt to draw attention away from Jenelle, who is set to get married this weekend, and now, the Teen Mom 2 star’s girlfriend is setting the record straight. After fans started to congratulate them on their engagement, Nathan’s girlfriend Ashley took to Twitter to slam the rumors. “Just goes to show how easily rumors get started [and] how you can’t believe everything you hear. Stop reading into everything. I’m not engaged,” she wrote. Fans responded to her tweet, explaining that they all thought she was announcing her engagement because she used the ring emoji in her original caption. “I appreciate all the love, but not engaged…yet.”

Meanwhile, Nathan and Jenelle have been going through a particularly rocky patch as of late. The two share a three-year-old son, Kaiser, and they’re currently disputing over custody, as Nathan’s mom has claimed that Jenelle’s youngest, eight-month-old daughter Ensley, tested positive for marijuana at birth. Jenelle has since fired back at Nathan’s mom Doris, insisting that Kaiser has returned from her care with bruises on his behind.

Following Jenelle’s accusations, it would appear that Kai will not be able to attend his mom’s wedding to David Eason since this weekend, as he’s supposed to be with his father. Despite the negativity, it would appear that Jenelle isn’t letting her spirits get crushed. On Instagram, she shared a photo from a special shoot she did for her fiancé, and wrote that “Love is in the air” with less than a week to go!
