What happened to Baby DeOrr? That’s what people have been asking since DeOrr Kunz Jr. went missing back in the summer of 2015. Nearly four years later, in April 2019, we may finally start to see some answers. According to a Facebook page called DeOrr Kunz Jr’s Voices, which has shared updates about the case, a new private investigator named David Marshburn is getting involved in the search. The Search For Me Foundation, co-founded by Marshburn, will also be part of the investigation.

“We here at DeOrr Kunz Jr. Voices have always had one priority. That is to find DeOrr Kunz Jr. and to bring justice to whoever is responsible for his disappearance,” the Facebook page shared on April 23. “This has been a work in progress for almost 4 years. We never advertise the behind the scenes effort and all the expenses we have paid out of our own pocket. … For almost a year, one of our admins has been talking to David Marshburn [and] Donna from Search For Me Foundation. … David and Marsha have time in the next month or so to take on the DeOrr Kunz Jr. case.”

While attempting to fundraise to finance the search, the Voice page continued, “We feel David and Marsha can find Baby DeOrr. Please help if you can. I know we can do this. We don’t think it will be hard to raise the money they need with all of you who love this child. … We have one goal and that is for David and Marsha to give us a call and say, “We found Baby DeOrr!!!” And you all will be the first ones to know. Please keep them in your prayers. Thank you and god bless.”

The page also shared a message from baby DeOrr’s father, DeOrr Kunz Sr. “Thank you for keeping my son in your thoughts,” he wrote on April 25. “[Whether] you have good or bad opinions against me, [it does] not matter. You kept my son in mind, so thank you sincerely. Thank you for donating and, if you plan to do so, thank you. I spoke with David, and I am very hopeful and think we all can get answers. At the end of the day, that’s all we all want. To my friends family and all who care about my son, I really appreciate it. Banding together for my son is the way we can get further.”

The Facebook page asserts they want to find the answer to what happened no matter what that may be. “We believe wholeheartedly that David and Marsha will be able to find DeOrr Kunz Jr and feel that, at this time, nothing else matters with any of our opinions regarding who or what may have happened,” they wrote on April 26. “The only thing that matters is for DeOrr Kunz Jr. to be found. Everything else after he is found will fall into place.”

Of course, Marshburn won’t be the first private investigator to have worked on the case. According to EastIdahoNews.com, P.I. Philip Klein and his firm, KIC Texas, quit in November 2017. “All evidence leads to the death of DeOrr Kunz, Jr.,” he said in a statement released at the time. “We do not believe a kidnapping or animal attack occurred — and all evidence supports this finding.”
