It looks like Miranda Lambert is acclimating well to her new role as a stepmom to her husband Brendan McLoughlin‘s son. She completely gushed about the 7-month-old during a recent interview and admitted that she’s loving this new chapter in her life.

“My stepson is amazing,” the 35-year-old confessed about Brendan’s son, Landon, during an interview with Extra while attending the annual Mutt March in Nashville on Thursday, June 6. “I’m loving that whole phase, and I’ve raised a million dogs, so I feel like I’ve got that part of my womanly/motherly thing full, so this is a whole new journey. It’s great.”

The country singer and New York City Police Department officer, 27, met in November 2018 while Miranda performed on Good Morning America. The show films in Times Square, where Brendan happened to be assigned at the time, and he got much more than a free peek at the songbird’s performance with her country trio, Pistol Annies. Just three days before the stud met his now-wife, his ex Kaihla Rettinger gave birth to their son.

The couple tied the knot just three months after they met during a secret ceremony and have been going strong ever since. They split their time between the big apple and Miranda’s home turf of Nashville. “We have the best of both worlds,” the “Tin Man” singer explained. “We spend time in New York, we get to see our adorable nugget, then we get to come back to the farm and have the quiet life. I’m enjoying the balance.”

Miranda gained a new cuddly stepson in the marriage but Brendan got over a dozen furry friends … literally. “He’s a great guy and, bless his heart, he didn’t have any dogs or any animals at all when he came into this relationship, so he inherited a whole barn full,” the “White Liar” artist joked. “He lives with a crazy dog lady.”

It looks like these two have a whole lot of love in their lives!
