Sending hints? Miley Cyrus was spotted without her wedding ring just hours before her split from husband Liam Hemsworth was confirmed. Earlier this week, Miley, 26, jetted off to Italy for a vacation with her sister Brandi Cyrus and their mutual friend, Brody Jenner’s ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, and she’s been sharing tons of snaps from their girls’ trip. But on Saturday, August 10, Miley shared one photo in particular where she was not wearing her wedding ring.

“Mute me if you don’t want SPAMMED,” Miley wrote in the caption of the photo. Fans were quick to point out that Miley was not wearing her wedding band in the comments. “Where is her wedding ring?” one fan asked, and another wrote, “I miss the wedding ring 😭.”

Just hours later, Life & Style confirmed that Miley and Liam, 29, had split and Miley’s rep released a statement on her behalf. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” the rep told People. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Miley and Liam first met on the set of their hit film, The Last Song, in 2009. The couple went on to date off and on, and they got back together in 2016. In December 2018, Miley and Liam tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony at their home in Nashville. They were only married for eight months before they separated.

After news of their split broke, Miley took to Twitter to share a cryptic message. “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created overnight, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed,” she wrote on Twitter on Sunday, August 11. “My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’ … it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own …💙.”
